The following are some important telephone numbers for foreigners living in Korea:
Immigration: 1345
Labor Board: 1350
National Pension Service: 1355
National Health Insurance Service: 82-33-811-2000
I heard one host mention they didn’t have a US bank account anymore and had issues.
I had a similar problem, so I suggest Alliant Credit Union. They can create accounts for expats by using your SSN or TIN. They’re an online-only bank so no branches but no membership fees.
There are a few other ways, like with Betterment, but you might need a home address (or parent’s address) to make them work.
